On October 17, Thenjiwe Meyiwa, Vice-President of the University of South Africa, and Bhekie Brilliance Mamba, Academician of the South African Academy of Sciences visited the Institute of Artificial Intelligence to discuss international exchanges and cooperation. Huawen Liu, Vice-President of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Huxiong Li, Executive director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Vice-director Zhaoxi Fang, Vice-director Saeid and other relevant officials attended the reception and talks.
During the talks, the two sides briefly introduced their respective basic situation, focused on the joint doctoral training project, teachers' short-term visit to study, interuniversity scientific research cooperation and other exchanges and discussions, and reached a preliminary cooperation intention. During the period, the delegation of the University of South Africa also visited the laboratory of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the Institute of Artificial Intelligence to understand the relevant scientific research experimental equipment.
After the meeting, the delegation of the University of South Africa held talks with Yunjin Hu, Vice-President of the Shaoxing University, and relevant leaders of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the Institute of Artificial Intelligence. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions and negotiations on school-level cooperation matters, initially reached a willingness to cooperate, defined the way and content of cooperation, and signed a memorandum of intent for cooperation.
